During the bad American generic rock at the end of the eighties and then through all the mostly praise worthy Grunge hype of the early nineties, Galaxie 500 was the best band in the US.

Now the frontman of Galaxie has his own band called Luna. And they are the best at what they are doing now. Go figure. Yeah, Velvet Underground influence and jangle guitars, but they create such a melodic rhythm it just yearns to be heard.

Low class white New York soul music. Not redneck. Check them out. It will be worth it.

Must-have albums: Bewitched and Penthouse

Best singles: Bonnie and Clyde (long slow single), nearly anything off Bewitched.
