The Picture of Dorian Grey

Dorian Gray! Just for a day!

What? You don't believe in Art? Well, read this one. A painting ages while its subject stays beautiful, young, and smokes opium. Dorian Gray is Wilde's masterpiece.

Oscar was put in Holloway prison as much for his electrifying writing as his flamboyant homosexuality. Too bad the sentence ended up killing him. Or was it syphilis from his sex tourism days in Northern Africa? Who cares? This pioneering spirit of bohemian style lives on in this famous novel and in his plays like The Importance of Being Earnest and Lady Windermere's Fan.

Oscar could string words together and make puns as well as anyone. Plus he loved to drink and take drugs as much as possible. So he was probably a lot of fun to hang out with, even though a lot of underaged boys testified under oath that he was a real pain in the ass.
